Project Cargo, Peel Ports Heysham (Docks). Super Grid Transformers

Liebherr LTM1800|11000sd discharging a Super Grid Transformer from the MV SATRUN at Peel Ports in Heysham. The Crane made use of its Backmast and Superlift Tray to complete the discharge. The Transformer will continue on its journey to Scottish Power Substation, where it shall be final installed.

Project Cargo, Port of Tilbury. National Grid Transformers

Terex Demag AC1000 discharging Super Grid Transformers from the MV Sea Melody at 40 Berth, Port of Tilbury. Baldwins Heavy Lift Projects discharging direct to SPMT for movement at the Port. The Transformers will continue on their journey to National Grid Substations, where they shall be final installed.

The Terex Demag AC1000 (1000te Lifting Capacity) Mobile Crane lifts the pedestrian bridge that links Rotherham Town centre and Forge Island. One of the key milestones in the redevelopment of the Island.

Heavy Lift Projects. Port of Glasgow

Baldwins Heavy Lift (Projects) using a 1000te Mobile Crane (Terex DEMAG AC1000) to discharge a Super Grid Transformer (SGT) from the MV Saturn at Peel Ports, King George V (KGV) Docks in Glasgow, Scotland. The SGT was loaded direct to the Modular Trailer and was transported to a substation North of Glasgow City Centre for installation.

Bridge Removal in Leeds City Centre

A 1000te Mobile Crane from our Heavy Lift Fleet is seen here, lifting out a redundant Bridge on a site in Leeds. The Terex Demag AC1000 Crane is selected by Clients due to its versatility and capacity while working on main boom or with luffer extensions. This successful removal can be seen from the air and was planned by Baldwins Projects in conjunction with our Client and Site Partner.

Project Cargo, The Port of Liverpool

Baldwins Projects can assist with Project Cargo and provide Clients with an all encompassing service to discharge and transport their Cargo from UK Ports direct to Job Site. On this occasion, we supplied a Liebherr LTM1500 Mobile Crane to discharge an ABB/Hitachi Grids Transformer at the Port of Liverpool.  While we had a 500te Crane at the Port, we also had another 500te Crane at the Job Site in Capenhurst which lifted and final positioned the Transformer on the plinth the same day. Having a large Heavy Crane fleet and supporting Project Management/Engineering enables our Teams to take on the most challenging Projects, and Deliver!

For this Project, Baldwins 1000te capcity Terex Demag AC1000 was used in tandem with our Grove GMK5250 for night time operations in Leeds City Centre.

Project Cargo, The Port of Ayr

The Port of Ayr is strategically placed to accept Heavy Project Cargoes and the Baldwins Crane Hire have the experience Teams and Fleet of Mobile Cranes to assist in Power Generation and Renewable Projects. The Videos show both our Terex Demag AC1000 and Leibherr LTM1800d Mobile Cranes discharging Super Grid Transformers at the Port.

Viking Energy Project, Jarrow

Baldwins Projects were contracted to assist our Client with their Renewable Project in Jarrow. The Project involved lifting a pipe bridge from the Site to a Jetty on the River Tyne. The Project had challenges with regards to crane positioning and access, but was successfully delivered with the help of the Projects and Engineering Team at Baldwins.

1000te Crane in a Park, Kendal

Baldwins Crane Hire were contracted at an early stage in order to check feasibility and assist with the design assurance to get a 1000te Mobile Crane into a Park in Kendal. The biggest crane that had been in the Town previously was a 160te and challenges were noted with access from the Motorway. Baldwins Projects working with Network Rail, the Council and the Police successfully mobilised the Crane to the Town Centre Park. From there, the Plans devised by Baldwins Engineering Team were instigated and the Town got itself a new Pedestrian Bridge.

Heavy Lifting and Multi Modal Movements on the River Thames

Baldwins Liebherr LG1750 lifting Co2 Tanks for re-purposing. The facility in Purfleet housed the Tanks which were lifted using the Heavy Liebherr Crane from Baldwins Crane. Lifting from the site to a waiting Barge, the Project was time critical as it relied on suitable tide times. Using the River Thames, the Tanks were barged to the Port of Tilbury where the discharge and final positioning took place.
